The next layer of challenge is to fit within single-digit number of multi-leap chess knight moves. A hint here: target an approach each moved knight creates a very convenient cell for another knight to land on. Minimize intermediary moves in that way as much as possible.
One more hint, along the route: don't overlook the top and the bottom one cells. Their placements can be utilized quite elegantly, sometimes unexpectedly.
